Have Your Say

Welcome to Werrington Village Surgery

Eligibility: All adults over 50, frontline health and social care workers, 16-49 years with underlying health conditions and adult carers

You will be able to have the vaccine no earlier than 6 months after 2nd dose.

So if you had your 2nd jab in March you will be eligible in Sept, 2nd jab in April due in October.

It will be the same order of priority as previous, group 1 will be residents in care homes and health and social care staff  followed quickly by over 80s etc.

You can have your flu and covid vaccine at the same time.

The vaccine will be Pfizer for the majority of people regardless of whether you had Astra Zeneca previously. This means a 15 minute wait.

JCB have generously provided a venue again.

Once we have the green light and the vaccines have arrived we will be in contact as before.  All the team are super committed will do everything possible to get Werrington protected as quickly as possible

Healthy 12-15 yr olds will have 1 jab and this will be delivered at school.

A little bit complicated this year.

Our flu delivery has been delayed as reported on the news.

We are expecting delivery in the next 2 weeks

We will be able to give Flu & Covid together to the first groups at JCB

We don’t want to delay our patients being protected so we will have walk-in clinics (look on hedge, we will have our banner out!)  and pre-bookable appointments also at the surgery.

Patients can choose to have separate Flu & Covid jabs if they wish.

NASAL FLU 2-3 years

Our nasal flu immunisations are now in the building, please contact reception to arrange the appointment.

Children aged 4-15 years will have nasal flu at school and cannot be booked into practice. If child misses the day, the school nurses do hold catch up days and the school will have the details.

Werrington Village Surgery are working with local practices to deliver the COVID 19 Vaccination program.   Our Vaccination centre is at JCB Cheadle.

Pregnancy and Vaccine

Just to let you know what is happening locally. We have been working very have with local practices to get up a GP Hub so out team can administer vaccinations safely and efficiently. It is a logistical challenge and updates are coming out daily. We are awaiting out delivery date and will have days notice.

Thank you for all your continuing messages of support.

Just an update on some of the changes at your GP Practice ….

Please phone 01782 304611 to book a telephone or video appointment. We have 10 phone lines which are very busy... Please bear with us.

If you need to be examined, the Doctor or Nurse will ask you to come in. If you can, come alone but carers are welcome. The waiting room is limited so we may ask you to wait outside / in your car.

Please wear a face covering when visiting the surgery. Although COVID restrictions are ending, Public Health England guidelines state that face coverings and social distancing will still remain in all healthcare settings, including our surgery. Face coverings are not compulsory for children under 11 or anyone who has breathing problems.

Prescription Requests

We only have 10 phone lines. As most matters are now been dealt with over the phone / video call.... the phone lines are incredibly busy, which we understand must be very frustrating. To free up the phone lines, if you can, please pop your repeat prescription request in the letterbox.

We are contacting patients to get them set up online to order prescriptions. Look out for a text from us which will be followed by a phone call. Due to the sensitivity of the data, we do need to undertake certain checks.

Thank you for your continuing support ... it means a lot to all the team.   It would be great if you could pass on this message to neighbours and friends..
